Ebb and Flow

This was a large scale multiples project that I completed at the end of my second year. The piece consists of 48 slip cast “S” forms which I submerged in a 12’x12’ pool of water and arranged into a radial pattern. The piece was displayed over the course of a week; as time went by the water slowly drained, leaving the forms dry and spotted with dirt. The installation makes reference to a cycle of resources versus population in an ecosystem; as a population increases, the resources will be depleted, and more and more often are not being given a chance to recover.
